Review the Kimba Neo

Star Review

Great product, it’s ultra-portable too. Perfect for packing in the boot of the car along with my shopping.

Kimba Neo

The Ottobock Kimba Neo is a rehab buggy designed to fit a large spectrum of children. It comes in a sleek modern design, yet has all the optional extra’s a disabled child may require. With adjustable seat width and depth, this buggy is able to grow with your child and can span a large age range. There are 2 size options, 1-6 years and 4-10 years of age, meaning not only is this chair ideal for young children, but also suitable for slightly large children with postural issues.

The seat can be mounted both forward facing and rear facing, and comes with the options of headrests, lateral supports, adductor’s and pommel. Coming with tilt, back recline and adjustable knee length and angle. The combination of all these adjustments means this buggy is ideally designed to grow with the child, meaning this is an investment for the child’s future

User Reviews

I have a love-hate relationship with our Kimba Neo. On the positive side, it is easy to take apart and put together, so good if you want something you can put in the boot of the car. It also has tie-downs so can go in wheelchair-accessible vehicles. And it can be extended/adjusted easily as the child grows.

However, it is difficult to adjust the tilt & recline.  The brake is hard to use. And it has a tendency to tip backward if you are going down an incline.

We’ll keep using the Neo after my daughter gets her wheelchair because of its portability, but I still won’t love it.

We originally wound up with a Neo because we needed a transit ready wheelchair that closely resembled the features of a car seat.  Our child has high tone and could easily throw it back into a fully reclined position while in the car or when out for a walk.  We finally had to put a bolt in the back and disabled the feature that allows you to automatically adjust it.  The pummel feature I do wish was higher, and that you could use a 5 point harness along with the pummel.  It has average sunshade and the fabric isn’t really a microfiber that is plush and soft as advertised.  I give it 3 stars
