Do you know of any special needs housing programs where you reside?  Local?  Nationally.

I’m not sure what you mean by a housing program?

Here in the UK we have Disabled Facilities Grants which are used to support adaptations to privately owned or rented houses to accommodate a person with a disability. For children under the 18, this is not means tested.

If you live in social housing, then your local council is obliged to find you a suitable house to meet the needs for your child. This is very hit and miss depending on the area and the needs of the family - waiting lists can be extremely long.

See here we don’t have anything like that in the US - sometimes if you’re lucky you might get insurance or an insurance waiver to assist with some of the costs of making a home accessible, but there are no grants, and our government here is in no way obliged to find us suitable housing that meets the needs of the child.  We don’t even have a program to put anyone on a waitlist for :(
