These sausage rolls are better than any you can buy in the supermarkets and they are really quick and simple to make for your summer picnics.

The flavour will of course depend on the type of sausages you choose but make sure you stick with a chipolata size sausage or adjust the cooking time.

The mango chutney is what really makes these sausage rolls amazing so don't leave it out even if you aren't usually a fan of mango chutney.

8 x Chipolatas cut in half

Ready made puff pastry sheets

Mango Chutney

1 x egg beaten

Sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to temperature stated on pastry packaging - usually around 200degrees

Line a baking tray with greaseproof or parchment paper

Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6-8cm squares

Spread some mango chutney onto each square of pastry

Place half a chipolata in the middle of the pastry square.

Roll pastry and seal edges together with a fork

Repeat until all sausages have been used up

Brush over with egg wash & sprinkle with sesame seeds

Cook for approx 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown

Remove from tray and allow to cool on a cooling rack.

Once completely cool, store in the fridge and eat within 3 days.

*These are also delicious eaten warm straight from the oven*
