Spring is coming, spring is coming!  I am ready for warmer temperatures and a little sunshine, and along with those two things come spring fashion!

I love looking at all of the up and coming trends for the season ahead, especially when it means wearing lighter layers and fun springy colors after heavy sweaters and scarves all winter.

To be honest, a lot of the outfits that pop up in the spring runway shows and online are nothing anyone in the Midwest of the United States would ever wear.

Many of the items even make me laugh because they are simply not functional or practical for the everyday life of a mother, whether working or staying at home.

For your viewing pleasure I have included a “Not going to happen” category at the end of this post, and please let me know if you would ever consider wearing a single one of those items.

So in honor of having spring on its way I have put together a splurge vs. save post that allows you to get in on these cute seasonal items no matter your budget.

Floral dress

I am all about finding a great floral dress for this spring, whether it is a maxi dress, wrap style, short and ruffled, etc.

This is a beautiful trend that can fit any style, size, or budget.

Splurge

This Ted Baker dress is a more extravagant buy for this spring trend.

Save

This dress by Forever 21 is more purse friendly but still on trend for this spring.

Blush pink

Honestly I’m not even sure if blush pink is my color, but it’s so pretty and springy and I cannot get enough.

A lace top in blush pink was recently added to my wardrobe.

This gorgeous shade acts as a neutral and seems to go with so many things!  I am also loving a blush lace dress for spring.

Splurge

Safe to say this Valentino dress is definitely the top end of the splurge scale.

Save

This Dorothy Perkins dress is so pretty and on trend for the go to spring shade.

Off-the-shoulder

Yes, give me off-the-shoulder everything!  Blouses, dresses, all of it.

This trend can be so feminine and pretty, not to mention easy to wear.

I love throwing on an off-the-shoulder top in the spring and summer, as it is comfortable and cool.

Splurge

This Neiman Marcus top is great for spring, with its fresh blue and white pattern.

Save

This embroidered TJ Maxx top has that same spring time feel as the above option.

Tassel earrings

This is probably one of my favorite trends for spring.

I am on the hunt for a pair of tassel earrings to wear with dresses, tops, and weddings this spring and summer.

The hardest part about finding a pair is choosing a color!

Splurge

This pair from Oscar de la Renta are pricey but so great for spring and summer.

Save

This pair from Nordstrom aren't as likely to break the bank and come in five different colours.

Not going to happen

Y’all- these are so bad.  I hope you get a good laugh out of some of these wardrobe options.

And forgive me if any of you actually own or are considering purchasing any of them...this is only my opinion.

These beach themed shoes from Dolce & Gabbana.

These Topshop jeans.

This blouse from Junya Watanabe.

And lastly this dress from Zara.
